Back in Miztli’s village, his family was worried, wondering about him and his life, concerned for his wellbeing. To send him word or hope to receive word back cost more than the simple miners could afford. However, the news, when received, was anything but favorable. Chantli’s father had nothing good to say about his former apprentice, and was not above claiming bad behavior and damage caused, hinting that the boy was an outlaw now, entangled with the criminal elements of the Great Capital.

Elotl, Miztli’s older brother and a restless troublemaker, bored and resenting his villager’s life anyway, refused to believe the rumors, and when the opportunity to sneak away and head for the distant capital of the Aztecs presented itself, he grabbed it with both hands, not prepared for the impact the Great Capital would have on him, or the challenges it would readily hurl his way.

In the meanwhile, the southern valleys to the west of Miztli’s original village managed to awake Tenochtitlan interest. The brewing war between local powers resulted in a plea for help that the Aztec Capital received favorably. Miztli’s knowledge of southern tongues, brought to the Emperor’s attention by the irrepressible Ahuitzotl, had him embroidered in the spying business once again. A seemingly simple mission of eavesdropping on the foreign delegation inside Tenochtitlan Palace turned out to be a whirlwind of dangers when gone out of hand, having him fighting or fleeing most unexpected surroundings, the imperial zoo full of caged jaguars and pumas being only one of the bizarre locations.

Warrior Beast The Aztec Chronicles Book 4 edition by Zoe Saadia Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is such an engaging, imaginative series. The author has brought to life a lost civilization along with turmoil embedded in it. All the characters were well-developed. I especially liked Chantili and Miztli. The plot lines kept me glued to the book. A very unique series!
I enjoyed Warrior Beast (The Aztec Chronicles Book 4) Edition. Author Zoe Saadia did an amazing job with this 4 book series. Each book is a page-turner. Well-woven historical plots and characters you won't soon forget. No spoilers here. Book 4 is a perfect addition to complete the series. Will there be a Book 5?
Warrior Beast (The Aztec Chronicles, Book 4) Edition. This is the first book I’ve read in this series, but even thought I came in late, I’m still impressed by the unique writing style and the well developed characters. Plenty of action and the unexpected tumultuous of dangers, that’s getting out of hand, makes for a captivating book.
The complexity of politics, spying, and relationships continues to grow and carry the main characters of this book into new adventures. The Warrior Beast from the past has a commanding role as Miztli advances in knowledge and skills. His relationship with the princess grows and deepens. Miztli's missions from the emperor leads you toward the birth of his own move toward the new Warrior Beast.
Anxious to dive into book six, can't wait!
This is the most intriguing and riveting read I have ever had the pleasure of reading. There are so many different levels, from personal to common intrigues in this book, whether foreign or royal, no one is off limits or safe. There are new characters added from favorite characters of stories past to family members of ones already deep in the dark and dangerous perils of hidden sub plots, and manipulations. We are treated to the intricacies of criminal elements to the emperor himself, all with war impending. All the while seeing our heroes and heroines being molded and the coming of age rituals of becoming the men and women that was dictated to by that era. We see the concern and loyalty of characters being tested and met, and how they are all part of the big picture. Sensational at so many levels, along with more non stop action and moving storyline. And told with a documented historical significance as well. A must read.
Good easy read
This was great. Zoe Saadia is one of my fave historical adventure writers. You will not be disappointed. This was a smart, entertaining read. Loved it.
