“Ava,” he pulled her to a stop. He felt like such an ass. She’d opened up to him. Showed a different side of herself. Shared herself. Been honest about her desires. And he’d squashed all that…just so he could keep his neat and tidy life in safe compartments. Which was ironic, considering that what he wanted to do with her was far from neat and tidy.
“I didn’t mean to upset you,” he said, keeping his voice soft.
“You didn’t,” she said nonchalantly. But the words were too automatic. Too quick. She paused and glanced away. “You were being honest and I can appreciate that,” she amended.
She thought he was being honest? Far from it, beautiful. Honest was wanting to press her up against the side of the house, letting his hands and lips investigate everything his eyes could see.
“Then why won’t you look at me?” He gripped her upper arms and squeezed gently.
“Because--“ she cried, her gaze snapping to his. An electric current zapped between them, heating him from head to toe.
“Because…” he prompted, a heartbeat away from kissing her into oblivion.
Eyes pleading, she said, “if I look at you, I’ll want to kiss you. And if I kiss you, I won’t be able to stop.”

The first time the title is used in the story the word ready is misplaced by reading. Other words are misused as well.I found the complete switch of attitude from the beginning compared to thee end didn't make sense. Unless you accept lust and sex to change a person's life goals.
There were a couple erotic scenes but way more time was spent on the love/hate relationship and inner feelings.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Good plot and characters were great. I am a sucker for a happy ever after ending so I was glad that they got one.
Two Werewolves with strong heads. What could go wrong? Even paced easy to follow paranormal romance. With a touch of erotic that will keep you on edge wanting more.
This is a wonderful wolf shape shifter story. An alpha male and an alpha female vying for the same position in the pack made for some very interesting fireworks not to mention the chemistry between the two characters was off the scale. The main and supporting characters were well developed. The storyline grabbed you from the start and did not let up until the end which I found quite satisfying. I would love to see another book with these characters. Highly recommend.
I liked the story. It needs a bit of editing and there were times when I couldn't follow the dialogue and what it meant, almost like there was something missing...but overall it was good...there was an ending, but there was some things left undone,tho
I really enjoyed this book and the characters. It was a good storyline. I took away stars because of the grammatical errors and I felt like the ending was so abrupt. I didn't get that certainty about each other's feelings at the end. They would say some things and then others made them sound unsure. It was still a good read.
Ready and Willing (suspiciously close to Ms. Monroe's stuff that I love) comes after this author's series that I loved. I gladly picked this book up cuz I believe I will always be waiting for the 'buzz' I got from previous books.
The book itself? Wail, close but not cigar. The basic story? yeah. I liked it. She shoulda worked it. The alpha male vs. alpha female never got down to the nitty gritty of you're my woman I'm your man. The conflict alluded to never materialized. He didn't go ape !@#$ when his woman got shot; shoulda been consequences EVEN if the next book tells the rest of the story.
In summary, this story is one I'd start reading in the next book.
Another GREAT book from Selena Blake.. It is a good "stand alone" but I have it from a great source that it is the first in a new series... ;-)
It is a paranormal, werewolf, romance (the best kind). The ONLY down side to this is that it is too short for me (only about 151 pages). ;-) What can I say, I'm always wishing that Selena would write longer novels.. But we don't have to wait all that long between books either. Oh Well!!
